We are happy to hear that you are against discrimination. We are too. We believe that all discrimination is wrong, regardless of the race, gender, color, or creed of the victim. In that regard, I am hoping you can help clarify some issues we have with the implicit and explicit claims made in your letter.
If you do believe that discrimination is wrong and immoral, is that classification conditional based upon the “marginalized or oppressor” status of the person being discriminated against, as stated by Ibram Kendi in his book “How To Be An Antiracist,” page 19?
“The only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination. The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.”
Kendi’s words beg the question - if discrimination is wrong and immoral, how can discrimination also be the only mechanism offered to create a moral Equity?
Believe it or not, we also believe that Norman Public Schools is responsible for discrimination, but against ALL families, teachers, and students in Norman, regardless of their identity and economic status. The proof of this can be found in Norman Public School’s endorsement, implementation, funding, and practice of Kendi’s brand of discrimination, via its Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Proof of this claim - taken directly from NPS DEI Director Stephanie Williams’ “Teaching for Equity” mandatory teacher training - can be found in the pictures below. In her training, Ms.Williams blatantly requires unequal treatment (discrimination) of students, teachers, and families, based solely upon their race, gender, economic status, and viewpoints, to create Equity.
With that in mind, can you please provide some data to support your claim that there have been “countless instances “of “marginalized” “students and families in Norman are being discriminated against based on race, disability, and income?”
If you can’t or won’t (regardless of the reason) is it your expectation that the citizens of Norman allow you to use unverifiable claims of discrimination to exert (possible) undue influence on the policies of Norman Public Schools, based simply upon your word that this is happening, and happening to the level that you claim?
